If you’re coming for a day trip and want to visit one of Assateague Maryland’s famous beaches, we’ll give you all of the information you need for each section of the park.
On the Maryland side, there are TWO SEPARATE PARKS with two separate entrances – the Maryland State Park and the National Seashore. There are some significant differences between the two parks, so we invite you to read about each park below.

Maryland State Park Beach
The “State Side” offers smaller day-use area, with great amenities if you’re looking for a quick trip to the island.

Assateague National Seashore
There’s a few different ways to enjoy the beach on the “National Side” of the island. We’ll break each one down for you.

Adventurous Activities & Tours
Not one for sitting on the beach? No problem! Assateague offers a few scenic hiking trails, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, crabbing, fishing and so much more!
There are also several vendors outside of the island that provide tours to the island by boat.

Remember the Island
If you love Assateague as much as we do, you may want to take something home to remember your trip! We’ve created a few unique souvenirs to have shipped directly to your home.
